MINUTES OF A SPECIAL CALLED MEETING OF THE GILCHRIST COUNTY BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS HELD DECEMBER 30, 1991, AT 10:00 A.M.
The Gilchrist County Board of County Commissioners, in and for Gilchrist County, Florida, convened in special session December 30, l99l with the following members present to-wit:
Other persons in attendance were Jackie R. Barron, Ex-Officio Clerk; Glenda Patterson, Deputy Clerk and Ted Burt, County Attorney.
Mr. Burt announced the purpose of this meeting is to consider adoption of an ordinance establishing a municipal service taxing unit for solid waste and emergency medical services. This type ordinance must be in place nine months prior to its' implementation. Potential purposes would be solid waste, ems, law enforcement, transportation and recreation.
Mr. Barron commented this ordinance would only implemented in an extreme emergency and is not to be considered as a longterm solution to the county's revenue source problems.
Motion was made by Commissioner Sheffield, seconded by Commissioner Mathis and agreed to as follows adopting Gilchrist County Ordinance No. 9l-l2, copy attached and made a part of these minutes.
Mr. Welch discussed with Commissioners a computer problem in the billing of special assessments. Representatives are expected today and he anticipates the problems will be resolved.
There being no other business to come before the Board at this time, motion was made by Commissioner Sheffield to adjourn at l0:50 A.M. Motion was seconded by Commissioner Philman and the meeting adjourned.
