MINUTES OF AN EMERGENCY MEETING OF THE GILCHRIST COUNTY BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS HELD APRIL 24, 1996

The Gilchrist County Board of County Commissioners, in and for Gilchrist County, Florida, convened in an Emergency meeting on April 24, 1996, at 5:00 p.m., in the Commissioner's Meeting Room at the Courthouse in Trenton, Florida, with the following members present to-wit:

Wilbur Bush, Chairman

V. C. Cannon

Jimmie Sheffield

Sue B. Suggs

Fred Wilkerson

Other persons in attendance were: Jackie R. Barron, Ex-Officio Clerk, Ron McQueen, Emergency Management/County Coordinator, Sam Ferguson & Sherree Pitzarell, Deputy Clerks, and Marvin Weaver, County Extension Agent.

Mr. Barron stated that the reason the emergency meeting was requested is to establish some minimum bid prices on items for the county's auction, scheduled for April 27, 1996. According to Mr. Barron, there are several items that the county has declared surplus and rejected bids on, therefore, the Board may want to set some minimum bids.

Following review and discussion of items on the list to be sold at the auction, Commissioner Suggs made a motion, seconded by Commissioner Wilkerson, to establish a minimum bid of $500 for the rock crusher, a minimum bid of $400 for the fuel truck, remove the chipper and 4000 tractor from sale, and check the status of the parts washer and cement mixer before selling, declaring the remaining items as surplus. The motion carried unanimously.

Following discussion, Commissioner Wilkerson made a motion, seconded by Commissioner Suggs, to allow Gilchrist County employees to bid on items at the auction. The motion carried unanimously.

There being no further business to discuss, a motion to adjourn at 6:00 p.m. was made by Commissioner Suggs, seconded by Commissioner Wilkerson, and unanimously approved.
