MINUTES OF AN EMERGENCY MEETING OF THE GILCHRIST COUNTY BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS HELD DECEMBER 27, 1996
The Gilchrist County Board of County Commissioners, in and for Gilchrist County, Florida, convened in an Emergency meeting on December 27, 1996, at 10:00 a.m., in the Commissioner's Meeting Room at the Courthouse in Trenton, Florida, with the following members present to-wit:
Sue B. Suggs, Chairman
Other persons in attendance were: Jackie R. Barron, Ex-Officio Clerk, Ted Burt, County Attorney, Ron McQueen, EMA/County Coordinator, Joe Gilliam, Clerk-elect, Sherree Pitzarell and Sam Ferguson, Deputy Clerks, and John Ayers, Gilchrist County Journal.
Chairman Suggs stated that the meeting was called to resolve the payment issue to Westgate Mobile Homes. The attorney representing Westgate Mobile Homes, Steven Graves, advised Mr. Burt that Westgate is willing to sign the contracts to remove the six mobile homes being returned to them, in exchange of the county's payment of $22,071.45. This amount represents the cost of septic tanks, wells, decks and other incidental items. The amount was worked out with Wilsons as to what they will allow for a credit and the amount Westgate pays its suppliers. This should prevent liens being filed. This agreement is also contingent upon Westgate receiving payment for the three mobile homes that will be retained by the recipients, by January 21, 1997.
Wilsons can not order their mobile homes until today's issue is resolved. Commissioner Durden made a motion to accept the agreements and advance payment to Westgate if the CDBG funds have not arrived prior to the 1-21-97. The motion was seconded by Commissioner Wilkerson. Commissioner Bush voted in favor of the motion. Chairman Suggs abstained and filed a memorandum of voting conflict form.
Commissioner Durden made a motion to adjourn at 10:30 a.m. The motion was seconded by Commissioner Wilkerson and unanimously approved.
SUE B. SUGGS, CHAIR
JACKIE R. BARRON, CLERK
