MINUTES OF AN EMERGENCY MEETING OF THE GILCHRIST COUNTY BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS HELD MARCH 30, 1998.
The Gilchrist County Board of County Commissioner, in and for Gilchrist County, Florida, held an emergency meeting on March 30, 1998, at 5:00 p.m., in the County Commissioner's Meeting Room, located in the Gilchrist County Courthouse, Trenton, Florida, with the following members present to-wit:
Jimmie Sheffield, Chair
Sue B. Suggs
Others in attendance were: Joseph W. Gilliam, Clerk of Circuit Court, Ron McQueen, EMA/County Coordinator, and Sherree Pitzarell, deputy clerk.
Mr. McQueen updated the Board on the flood conditions and meetings he has attended with the Emergency Management Disaster team. According to Mr. McQueen, the county may be reimbursed up to $225,623.41 for damages up through March 23rd. There are 22 sites which have been identified for repairs.
Mr. McQueen advised the Board that according to the FEMA team, Mr. Coarsey's salary can not be reimbursed through FEMA.
Commissioner Durden made a motion, seconded by Commissioner Suggs, to declare a state of emergency for Gilchrist County for the next seven days, by resolution, due to flood conditions. The motion carried unanimously. A copy of resolution 98-16 is on file in the Clerk's Office.
There being no further business to discuss, a motion to adjourn at 5:25 p.m. was made by Commissioner Durden, seconded by Commissioner Suggs, and unanimously approved.
